We can learn some valuable leadership lessons from the playful TV-show Jeopardy that has been running for several years. In the show the aim is to state the correct question.

Using this principle in your leadership can help you feel and function better in everyday life. How you thought about the questions you ask yourself on a daily basis?

We ask poor quality questions...

Most of the time we ask ourselvese lots of questions that we as leaders are not even aware of. Like for example:

  • Why do I end up involved in conflicts all the time?
  • Why do I have such a boring job?
  • Why do the traffic lights always turn red when I approach them?

These and other questions activate our brain to find the answer to these questions, mostly on a subconscious level. This will cause you to focus on the reasons why you have a boring job and it is a universal law that what we focus on we tend to get more of.

Lets ask questions of better quality...

So for you to be successful in your leadership of yourself and others, you could instead ask other questions that will strenghten you and create states of well being, life energy and joy. Questions like:

  • What am I enjoying most in life right now?
  • What am I most excited about in my life right now?
  • What am I grateful for in life?

Try it out! It is hard not to feel good if you allow yourself to find the answers to those questions and to really allow yourself to feel the answer, to make it come alive within you.

As a leader you can make a big difference in the level of focus, effectiviness and well being both in yourself and your co-workers by asking better quality questions.
